That’s some nice fish! What did you catch them on?

Matt

Do you like your Prowler 13. That’s the yak I have been looking at.

I just got a prowler 13 a couple of months ago from Coastal Expeditions. I really like it. It’s the first kayak I’ve owned so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I have no complaints. I have taken it out many times with no problems. I’m still in the process of rigging it, but here’s a picture:

Sorry, still trying to figure out how to post a picture

Is it pretty easy to handle without a rudder. I like it because it is long enough to have a little speed but it’s also short enough to move around in.

It’s not that bad without a rudder. But I can definitley see where having a rudder would make life a lot easier. You would not have to work as hard at keeping on course when you have wind and strong tides or choppy water. I’m planning on getting a rudder in the future.

i got them on live shrimp w/ a two ounce jig head

and the prowler is awesome i got a scotty mount on the front and i’ve upgraded the seat and im looking to get an achor system and a rudder but the day i went was pretty windy and when i was headed home i was goin into the wind and with the tide so it was pretty choppy but i that thing movin beautifully

Are you fishing lures or live bait and where do you keep it or any fish that you don’t want to throw back? My wife wants me to get one for the “exercise”, I figure I might as well get to know how to put it to worthwhile use.
