4/18

Left Sullivan’s in the AM and cleared the rocks at 4:40. Headed south to the EB area. A very slow day for us. Trolled out toward 226 and back. Warmest water we saw 72. 3 Knockdowns all day and no fish. Defintely had fun with crew and hopefully we worked out all the kinks for the upsoming season. I know I’m sore today after the first trip of the year.

SW,

Sorry to hear about the slow day! At least it was better than working and you got to work the kinks out of the boat. Whalure was blaming the captain on the slow day and says that you need to learn to sharpen your hooks! I look forward to being together in Hatteras!

I am not sure whalure knows what a sharp hook is after seeing some of the rusty rigs I’ve seen on his rig however so called unsharpened hooks and all we were not in any fishy water and it sucks to post a goose egg but maybe it will help some others thinking about heading out in the next few days.

Yes, it sucks to post a goose egg but takes a man to do it. Fishing is not always catching. Thanks for the post! Look forward to reading some good catch stories in the future. You paid some bills to the fishing gods you are now due to cash in a bit.

Negative on fishing with Fernando, boat is a 25 mako with twin 175 suzukis. We found a nice weed line in 250’ that went for miles and worked both sides with no luck. Did have a nice fish on first strike of day, but reel man was not familiar with the drag settings and we pulled the hook.
