4/19 AM

Went out with a friend and fellow SSWA member on his boat. He is kinda new to the salt, so wanted to show him some new things. We chunked plugs in the AM. We dug through his box and found a small skitter walk and in short order he was walking the dog. I managed a 16.5" trout on a skitter walk. He had many strikes but did not hook up this time. My guess is he will next time he tries…

Since he has not caught much to-date, I did something I haven’t done in 9 months - Tied up a carolina rig and showed him a reliable cut bait spot. It didn’t disappoint… We ended the rainy morning with two reds apiece between 21" and 28".

Hooked up, screaming drag

Good times! 28"

26.5"

All the reds had beautiful coloring today, like Louisiana Reds…
