4/20/12 Got2Go "beat down or beatin' up?"

Well, I said I’d post on the good days and on the bad, so here I go. Opted to fish today, rather than Thursday, due some stuff going on at the house. Thought we’d be ok Friday…Well, felt ok about our morning window, but as I left the house at 5:45am I noticed the always fun, NE picking up. Oh boy, it’s going to be a fun day! So, NorthChucky, HaulinBass, and myself headed out around 7:30am. Plan was to get an AJ on the fly early, but scratched that as it was sloppy out there for the 'ol BayReef. No worries, headed out in search of cobia. We fished pretty hard in the slop, maybe 1.5hrs w/out much. Finally, opted to anchor up and set-up the chum and boy did we chum:dizzy_face:. So, we pulled up anchor as the waves occasionally crashed over the bow and set off to salvage our day on some sheeps. Pulled up and caught 2 small blues while setting the anchor. Fiddlers down and it was ON…cbass after stinking cbass after stinking cbass. LOL. So, went to pull the anchor that slipped slightly while setting it and it was hung. Again, no worries, happens from time to time. Cleated it off, throttle, kapow, rope snapped and my “lucky” 4yr old anchor is gone. So, reluctantly, I headed the Got2Go back to the landing in the slop. On a bright note, somehow, everyone had a great time. If anyone needs a person, HaulinBass and NorthChucky are the kind of people that you want on your boat. Thanks again, guys, and we’ll do it again (if ya’ll want too )

“The problem that infuriates you the most is the one you are meant to solve.”

Great attitude to make the best of a rough day. Sorry about the anchor. Lost a brand new mighty mite with chain cople years ago on a wreck…started drifting…pulled in rope to find it cut where I guess it slipped and rubbed as we too bounced around in the waves…not a good feeling… Maybe they wil let us keep afew of the endangered Bsb soon:smiley:

hey thanks for taking me for sure buddy!

i know it didn’t work out quite the way we had envisioned but i still had a great time :sunglasses:. Good company always helps! We will catch em up next time i’m sure

i still cant get over the c-bass swarm we encountered… and we can’t keep a single one . Literally as soon as the fiddler hit the bottom… fish on… everytime… for like 30 drops straight

overfished… i think not my friend

i’ll make sure to bring plenty of extra food for you guys next time too
