I woke up today and left my brain in bed. I got out today about 1130 and nothing seemed to be going right. I started out by forgetting my bait bucket and had to go back home for that. Only to find out that Sewee was out of minnows and nobody else that way has any. Plan B. So i buy a cheap trap and luckly run into a local crabber who spares me a few for minnow bait. Then i find out that i grabbed to different pladdle ends, but not all is not lost because i only need it in tight places thanks to hobie’s drive system. I finally make out onto the water and realize i have forgotten the second most important thing to my rods, my copenhagen!!! At this point i am thinking that the whole day is going to be a bust, but all was soon forgotten. I ended up spending almost 6 hours on the water and it turned out i didnt neeed bait at all. I ended up catching close to 30 trout between 8 and 18 inches and missed twice that many on short strikes and shake offs. Funny part was i didnt catch a one on live bait. I slow trolled till i would get a bite and then fished the area until they moved on. Most fish were caught on the out going tide and all were caught on a pumpkin seed shad tail with a 1/8 ounce red jig head. All and all it could not have turned out better.
Wow, nice day, wish I had been with you.
I caught 3 trout yesterday, 1 might have been a keeper.
