4/22/14 Go2Go "Cobia Adventure"

After a busy and enjoyable Easter weekend, Mrs. Got2Go told me that I should put off all the house and yard work and go fishing today…really,. So, I called up Mr. Keys Monday to see if he was up for a drive down the coast looking for Mr. Cobia. “I know it’s still a little early and the water is a little cool, but my past log book had me catching one this time under these conditions a few years ago. Hero or zero”, I said. We put in at first light and before I could say cobia Mr. Keys was throwing perfect circles with the net and big, fat frisky bait were going in to the tank. On a side note, if you have never grabbed a live squid like myself, know that they will bite you and leave you bleeding , really. So, off we headed to our first spot and to cut down on the length of typing, we fished from Folly Beach to Hilton Head today. All the while stopping and fishing on everything in 40-90’ of water. Highest water temperature that we found was 66. No fish seen, hooked, or landed,. The highlight of the day was stumbling into a 10-12’ tiger shark guarding and literally eating a piece of small whale. It was the stuff you see on National Geographic, truly unreal to see its’ head out of the water and taking bites out of it. All in all, a good safe day and never would have known if we didn’t try it out. Thanks again D for tagging along. We’ll get some triggas and hoos next Monday or Tuesday.

That’s awesome to see those sharks eating like that. Saw a 12’ Tiger munching on a Sea turtle just like that a couple years ago on the reef line down in he keys. It was super cool to see it take bites out of it.

“adventure” is right!

thanks for the safe trip, we will get em next time. lets make sure to pack the whale blubber for bait :stuck_out_tongue:

you don’t know if you don’t go…

No more pictures of the new boat on the water? It’s a very good looking fishing machine you’ve got there.

Where did you get the live squid?

He probably caught it in the cast net…
