My brother is in town to visit for the week, and wanted to cross ‘catch a shark’ off the bucket list. The Charleston jetties delivered! We landed 3 shark and about a dozen lady fish. Tried for sheepies on sand fleas but didn’t have any luck.

Cool! That’s so fun for him. Did you find menhaden for bait? Or were you cutting up ladyfish to catch the sharks?
We rolled up on a ■■■■■ of diving seagulls at Dynamite hole and we’re hopeful for some menhaden. But there were none to be found in the cast net. We had some mud minnows that produced plenty of Lady Fish on light tackle. The lady fish we’re great shark bait. It all worked out in the end.

Seagulls aren’t targeting menhaden that I’ve seen.
It’s the diving pelicans exclusively.
Keep those ladyfish chunks down there and some reds will likely join
the sharks crossed off!
