4/24 Report "Little Loose"

It was an up and down day for us Thursday. Went fishing with Biffle on his boat out of City Marina. Started out with engine problems related to a pore service job that sent us back to the dock. After an hour of work, we headed back out but didn’t get lines in until about 9:00am. To make matters worse, Greg had to be in Richmond by 5:00 so we only had a few hours and needed to be back to the dock by 3:00. That being said, a special thanks to “Phin” for his info!! After feeding us a ton of intel, he gave us a set of numbers to start and he was right on! Ended up with 16 mahi and left them biting at 12:00 due to big seas and a hard ride home to meet Greg’s schedule. All in all a good day, just wish we had more time. I will post some more pics when I get them from Greg tonight.

With all the rain in Richmond I bet he wished he would have stayed a few more hours. Glad to see the Mahi showing up in numbers. Cant wait to get out there in a couple weeks

You’re right about that! We had a blast while it lasted. We hit for the cycle with Greg at the helm. First hookup of the season was a quadruple. Had triples doubles and a single. Stayed as long as we could. Greg put her on the pins to run home and she was a bit bumpy. I will give it to you guys who were out there in the CC’s . You got moxy!

Word was scoutin’ and dem boys on the freeman were heading out today. Looking forward to the report. If we could have stayed we could have caught them all day!

Looks like a good trip! 12 years ago, when I heard someone say they caught Mahi around here, I thought to myself “they aren’t from around here”, now it’s common lingo…Funny how verbiage changes within circles…Maybe mahi on the dinner plate, but dolphin on the gaff!

Well …good to see the mahi have shown up.

Sounds like ya’ll were busy. Thanks for the report. Any certain colors, naked, any weed lines? Headed out Sunday.

Weed lines in 500’ 75-77 deg, but that was Thursday!! They hit everything, green, blue, pink, etc. biggest was 28 lbs and hit a black/purple sea witch. Everyone should get some sea witches from Scoutin For Goodies!! We were put on the fish by Phin so can’t take much of the credit.
