4/25/08 Report

Made it offshore yesterday, fished the 100/400. Slow starting out, but got hot just before noon. Decked 6 mahi. About 1PM we found a floating tree tied to a half dozen crab pot bouys, looked like National Geographic underneath. Mahi and Triple Tail were every on the debris. Picked up a couple more trolling then started chunking to them with light tackle. Picked up 7 more by cutting squares of Ballyhoo and let them float back under the debris. Warm water had moved in overnight and I’m afraid we actually overshot the fish. Heard several bandit boats that were getting eat up inshore of us in 90-100ft of water. Everything we caught was in 250-450ft of water. Heard some chatter on the radio about yellowfin being caught offshore of GTH. Captain said he had 10 YFT, several mahi and a couple of Hoos at noon. He also said he was in 1500ft of water! Get out there and get you some boys!

i could use a day like that. nice report
