4/26 226 Hole

Passed the jetties at 0345, ran out around the 226 hole, wet lines and set east. Had a sail throw the hook right off, boated two gaffers about 30 minutes into the troll, and ended up with one more gaffer after about 3 hours…trolled south, trolled north, no dice. We were in 77 degree water all day, no more knockdowns. No significant grasslines out there, pretty good flyers though. Bumped some bottom numbers on the way back in, not much success there either, a couple of pinks. Anyhow, one of the crew caught his first doffinfush, so it was worthwhile…Had a great crew with Waterboy, Fubar(finally got to bloody his own boat), Rick and Don Janney, kinda slow but a nice day.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

a buddy that fishes a 33’ Grady express out of IOP tagged a 250lb blue this afternoon SOUTH OF 226 in 1700’. he bit a blue/white islander on the center rigger. ill post his video up when i can get my camera chord. they had him on for about 40 minutes or so.
