Left the dock at 530, quickly realized it would be a rodeo trying to get south. Plan B, run to a nice eddy in the deep SE of the hole. Slow bumpy ride, put them in on the ledge at 830–we were done with the beating. Pushed offshore in search of the blue water. Scattered weeds till we found an organized line in 400ft. Picked up 4, two around 20 lbs. 2 slingers. Kept pushing out deep, found the edge we were looking for in 1100ft. Non stop action, peeled off the weed line with a triple, took us a mile from our spot. Reset the spread, headed back to the weed line and had a Blue play with our flat line, dropped it back and he got the long rigger. Got three jumps out of him before pulling the hook. Almost immediately after we had a pack of pilot whales come boat side which was a treat. Had one about 10 ft long right at the gunnel. Ran out of bait and were low on ice so we pulled the plug. Ended with 14 dolphin for the box, tagged two. Great day with the boys and a nice ride home.
Cool coloring on that last pic!!! Sounds like a blast! You confirmed my suspicions in another thread that turning more north would have been the best bet on saturday. How big were the dolphin you tagged?
Couple small ones. 18" and 20". We were all alone, all the boats we saw ran south right into it. Mostly sportys, one center.
