4/5 hobcaw creek- Ion dock

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but just wanted to share a similar thing that happened to me a few years back. I was clueless, and fishing in a creek off the Wando with my son. I guy idled by with his small girl in the boat. He asked me how I was doing and it was pretty obvious I had no clue. He gave me specific instructions on how to troll the edge of a sandbar with a specific grub (white with pink tail) . He and his daughter had been picking up 2-3 trout every pass and left them biting. He looked at my rig and advised to minimize the terminal tackle, etc. He gave me a new pack of those grubs and turned me loose. My son and I caught a handful of trout and you know what? I will never forget his generosity nor be able to thank him enough. Maybe if he is reading this he will remember…

Pay it forward guys, … I have…

Man, some great stories and a beautiful trout! Most fishermen are really good people. I have said it before, there are some real class people here on CF.

I have met some good people on here in the past 3 years of being in Charleston, hopefully many more to come …

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

i have too. stonoman is a great man and there are many many many more. i can use all the help i can get! shoot im only a 17 year old kid!! anyone know of the fishing in the abbapoola?

with the good days we must take the days of enjoying the outdoors. went again and fished a few hours of the outgoing tide…zero. the tide was still pretty high and slowed down way to fast, plus I think the cold nights may have spooked the fish to deeper water…try again in a few days and see how it goes!

side note: my 4 year old son is DYING for us to catch a shark…I have caught many off the folly pier at night in the past but i know they frown on that plus he doesn’t need to be running around there after dark…so anyone have any good spots in the surf where they can be caught during the day??

They catch tons of small shark off of the little pier by the Riverdogs stadium. 18" ones which might be good for your little man to see.

We have caught small ones he isn’t impressed haha. He wont be happy until he sees a 3 foot plus.

Lots of sharks caught in the surf at Breach Inlet
