$4.72 per gallon dock fuel/$32.00 gal oil

Someone please tell me what could warrant charging these prices at the dock? Pulled up to Edisto Marina this past Monday and when I was told the price,I said “Wow I might have to consider putting my old rig on the trailer to save 100 bucks.” I was told that would be a good idea if I didn’t care about “F"ing up my motor with the ethonal at the gas station.”

Later that day a friend drove up for a few days of fishing. On the way to the house he stopped by the Marina and bought a gallon of oil for $32.00. You would think it was Mercury, yamalube or Johnson but it was an off-name brand of 2cycle oil i’ve never heard of…

I know a boat cost money, but is the cost of getting gas deliverd to marina’s really that much more?

I fully believe in supporting local businesses but I agree with you on this one. I was going to get gas there til I saw the price 2 weeks ago. I ended up getting ethanol gas at the BP and a jug of Lucas ethanol treatment. Now I just get ethanol free in jugs from chs and bring it home.

I pulled up to the dock last week and had my son run in quick and get a block of chum. $12.86 for a 5 pounder. That is just horrible mark up. West Marine is horrible for mark up and they charge 5$.

The Edistonian is the only reasonable place to get tackle and bait in Edisto.
