MIAMI (CBSMiami) ? Four people are dead after a three boat crash off Dinner Key Saturday morning, according to FWC.

?It?s a tragedy for us to see something like this happen,? said Jorge Pino with Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. ?This is probably the worst accident I?ve seen in my eleven-year history of being with FWC where four people die in one single accident.?

Officials said many more were hurt. It happened just after the Fourth of July fireworks.

?Right after the fireworks everyone makes a mad dash to get back to the dock we believe that?s exactly when the accident occurred,? said Pino.

I can’t imagine why anyone would speed back to the docks or ramps at night when so many boats are in the water. Just terrible.

It is a terrible shame that those people were killed and injured.
Folks get in such a big d*** hurry to be the first ones back to the dock/landing or out of the parking areas to get home.

That’s why I don’t go to fireworks displays or outdoor concerts or anything happening at night where people are probably drinking, land or water.

My condolences to the families of the dead & injured.

This is why I will never be on the water on the 4th. Done it once in harbor and once on the lake. Almost run over in both. I will not do that again.
Sorry to hear about this tragedy.

and this type stuff will continue until there is stiffer enforcement and a training and licensing program

I see it every day on Lake Murray

my neighbor on his pontoon boat was hit by a bass boat during the day, pontoon was going 10 mph in a straight line, bass boat moving 40+, pontoon was hit at the 4 o’clock position, stupid

my dock was hit and to the best of my knowledge it was sitting still
