Left Big Bay on the Miss Fishing at 5 in rougher than expected seas and started trolling short of the banks at 7. Nothing interesting until we hit 250 ft. Got our first hoo there and went 4 for 8 on the day on hoos that went approximately 25-50 lbs. Lots of sails in the area, also, as we went 2 for 5 on them for the day. All activity between 250-300 feet. Will post pics Sunday. With the rough seas, most bites came on Black Bart mini slants.
good work Capt- you guys have had to solid wahoo sushi trips back to back - can’t ask for more than that!
Wow. Great fishing.
Wow indeed; that is some HOT action, can’t wait to see’m

“Good things come to those who bait”
I was just informed removing sailfish from the water unless you are going to keep them is illegal. It was an honest mistake, and I was unaware of this law. Every boat I have ever been on for 20 years has done the same things if pics were wanted. It won’t be done again!
Nice job on the wahoos. Y’all seem to have them dialed in nicely!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>Just make sure that he’s legal size, you have the proper permits, and that you report the capture to the following big-brother website:https://hmspermits.noaa.gov/permitidlandings.asp
Raddaddy, I think that there are lot’s of people on this website that will pull a fish out of the water, especially for an angler’s first. But many of those people just don’t post the evidence. I’m not going to tell you that I WOULDN’T pull a fish out of the water and take a picture for my 11 year old neice, nor will I say that I WOULD do it, but I CAN tell you that I wouldn’t post the pics on the internet… There may be a hidden message in there somewhere, but you can interpret as you would like…
Great fishing, great pics ![]()
Remember that you now need a HMS permit remove a billfish from the water, fish dip or picture. The permit is only $20 and is good for the boat, not just an individual.

The permit was definitely taken care at the beginning of the season by the boat owner, and it does state clearly in federal guidelines that unless the fish will be harvested, it can’t be removed from the water. I understand the intent of the law which is to release the healthiest possible fish, so we will act accordingly.
