Great day to be us. 1st drop my son gets 2reds,one a 21" personal best, and a decent black drum. Me -0. 2nd spot I got a best with a 20" flounder and he got a best with a 19" trout, and 2 more reds.3rd spot another best with a20" sheephead and his first ever flounder and a short sheephead. So proud of the little guy, he caught 5 species in a day,not sure what other than awesome to call it,we both got 2 personal bests andd he got that next new species checked off. The cool thing he worked a creekmouth like a pro determined to Cath the flounder. A few pictures weren’t worth posting bc the salt haze on the lens.
Not going to answer for him but usually in a creek like that you'll end up catching them on shrimp but if fishing docks/old structures targeting them you'll want to use fiddler crabs.
The sheep’s were caught on the few grasshopper size shrimp we caught, under a dock with just a hook and split shot. For me I find it easier to catch them That way bc they eat the bait whole,I run a small hook right behind the head and watch the line for any kind of twitch. I’m sure it’s wrong but I’ve tried clams and fiddlers with the only result being high blood pressure. My son caught his sheep on a cork under the same dock with baby shrimp. All fish caught on shrimp, under a cork, Carolina rigged dragging the bottom , and freelined into the structure with the small split shot. We fished between buck hall and garris.
