Had a good weekend in the Wando.
Fished with MMs on jighead and popping cork and also used fresh cut mullet on Carolina Rig. Had a few shrimp but no takers.
Caught 1 red on a pinfish under a cork.
Was taking a pic of the trout with the timer and it never fails that right when it’s about to snap — the fish decides to make a run for it! All fish released healthy.
Forgot my camera Sunday so I had to take some pics with my phone…

I like that “action” photo with the trout. Got to love his motivation to get away. Your day was definitely better than mine, one shark, one ray and too many bluefish bites to count. Oh, well, it was a crabbing trip after all.

yea I thought the trout pic was pretty funny. If you take him out of the pic it looks like I was about to give someone a boost to climb a wall or something!
I saw the tag and it was covered in slime and after a major tug of war to keep him out of the oysters at the start of the incoming, I was ready to get him back in the water. I scraped it back a bit but didn’t readily see the number.
I should’ve tried to take a pic of it to get the number. It caught me off guard a bit cause that’s the 1st tagged red I’ve caught. I didn’t have anything to write with at the time and I was fishing solo so it’s tough enough to land them sometimes!

were you able to see it, it should have been a 5 digit number. along with the length of the fish, it’s as easy to repeat in your head as a phone number. as soon as you release the fish, type it in as such on your phone (as just digits) and push send, then end. it’ll be in your call list for retrieving later, with only a few keystrokes before it evaporates from the mind!
just my approach when i get lucky enough to catch a tag… but you did the right thing!
