Just saw on Reel Hookers Fb page a CC Mako about 23’ or so went missing. Boat was found capsized, but the passengers are still missing. His post says the boat left out of Charleston yesterday morning, and hasn’t been seen since. Boats name is Shock-A-Con. Praying for them to be found safely.
We were out yesterday and picked up a DSC Distress call with no information on location of vessel. CG began calling out to see who is anyone picked up DSC Distress call wanting your location and height of antenna. Wonder if that was their DSC Distress call? Does anyone know how that happens? Just want to make sure if I ever need mine to work the same thing doesnt happen.
Needless to say, try to stay with the boat, if at all possible! Sounds as if they stayed together as a group, next best thing! Really good outcome:smiley:
I know we can only shoot from the hip on what happened, but what is the most likely cause of a mono hull sinking? Bad and single bilge pump? I know we can never be too prepared, I would just like to better understand how this happens for my knowledge?
I heard from a mutual friend that there was a fire onboard. They were being transported to MUSC for severe dehydration. His wife said that the next time they want to eat seafood, they will be buying it.
Bought my PLB last week. Stories like this reassure the fact that the money was well spent!
