Maybe it’s just jealousy, but I don’t see how there’s a market for all these huge CC’s that seem to be coming on the market. My wife and I do pretty well for ourselves and I can’t afford a new 23ft CC it seems. What do the people that can afford these massive CCs do for a living? How many 53 ft Scouts will sell? Especially with the write off limitations now it’s harder to just hide it under entertainment expenses. I don’t see how people can afford not only the boat, but the storage, maintenance, insurance, taxes, etc. Do yall think the boat market will correct itself in the near future? Am I just being cheap/jealous?
Go to south Florida if you want to see a “big” boat market.
Key West 186 DC
We all can’t deal drugs!
the majority of those boats go to the Middle East, S. Florida, and New York. From what I heard, the big Scouts, hull #1 went to Yamaha, #2 to Mercury, #3-5 went to Abu Dhabi or somewhere’s around there
Scout Sold a number of those 53’ cc before they were even on the market
235 scout sportfish
My thoughts are right in line with the earlier comments. South Florida is loaded with the bigger and faster CC’s, but you would be surprised at how many I see here on the ICW. I went to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show In November and the big CC’s were the hot items.
My theory is: Regardless of how it was obtained there are Too Many People With Too Much Money!
Don’t see many Scouts in South Fl, but you will see lots of Sea Vee’s and Hydra Sport Customs, Sea Hunter, and Invisible’s and lots of motors on the back.
Personally, if I’m going to by a 40’+ CC for fishing. I’m going with a Freeman over a Scout all day. Even a SeaVee
