Then again, I wasn't redfishing either! I was trying to put an 8 year old on a BSB. Can't help that he snagged a red fish. Like I said before, we moved once we realized what was going on... Could have caught the whole school if I wanted.

I said “they were a nightmare to revive” which implies effort! I was offshore on some good grouper bottom. Thought for sure I had a big gag on there. Fish bit on a piece of cut squid. Heck, one of the reds ate a pretty big live bait! I guess those things will eat anything.

Fritz, I’m not sure of your fishing ability, but one thing that I’m positive about is your ability to get things stirred up.

It’s true, I guidescouted Skinnee that day. It was easy; I just followed the floating breeders to his grouper hole…

Fritz, I’ll give you a hats off for the pic of the big spot tail! But as to the best over slot redfisherman? I really wonder how many people that fish actually ever come on this site? No you are not the best redfisherman that I know. Most all fishermen that I know don’t target fish that they can’t keep, they just inadvertently catch them. But in your line of business, you have to do what ever keeps the clients coming back. Best of luck to you! Being sincere, good luck out there showing people Southern Hospitality and fun!

Oh no you didn’t.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

That’s a very nice black drum! 41 bridge? He may not catch as many black drum of that size as you do, but he does get to fish for a living…

pretty brave posting a fish held vertically, especially with your light tackle so brazenly displayed on the stern of your boat  just asking for the fish police to come knocking. you know you’re supposed to ask the big fish to bite only the 50 lb class reels, right?

Nice fish! did it bottom out the scale or did you get an actual weight?

So you tell me about 40 pounders and post a picture of a black drum? Nice.

Great fish and even better gaff job in the head!

Where is the black drum pic? Deleted?

Dont need to go to the Jetties for the big Reds. Thats skill.

But that’s all some know…

One of the reasons I have always enjoyed this website is that people that are completely clueless are allowed to post at will.

Nice fish Fritz.
And I agree.

Why is your boat not wrapped?

Big old gal for sure but old A.J. Miller’s fish would eat your fish. 75 lbs. and back in 1965 when gill nets were legal and the breeders were still harvested (if you’re still alive nice fish A.J.). Wish I could tell you my biggest bull red but the (**() things always bottom out my boga . (Joking aside good job putting your clients on the big boys and girls. I’m sure that father and son will be talking about that fish for many years to come).

If you want a real challenge try putting your clients on one of these beasts…caught this big boy in Coburg Creek. (Donated to DNR but if I catch another I might hook it up and try to beat old A.J.'s fish).

What is the best way to bleed out a 40 lb red so that it fries up better later?
