5/1 and 5/5

5/1 Based on the reports Monday and roff report that was ordered we decided to head down south of 226 hole to 500ft to start. Left remeleys at 5 and headed out. We ran across a really nice weedline in 250ft but with water at 71 and only one boat on it we decided to keep pushing out. Ran out to 1000ft in 74 degree water with some scattered weed to deploy lines. After an hour with nothing we picked up and ran out to 1400ft with 78 degree water and scattered weeds again. Spent the next couple hours trolling back shallow with not a single bite. There were no boats around us and the radio chatter of people catching in 1400ft slowed down. Frustrated and disappointed we picked up to run back to bottom fish. On the way back in cane across the same nice weedline from earlier which now had 20 boats on it we decided to give it a shot. Within 20 minutes put 2 slingers in the boat and then had it slow down. Picked up at 3 to make the long ride home to think about how i made the dumb mistake to not fish that weedline all day. Fortunately we were able to run 30 Knotts.

5/5 At 5:30 Friday night it came to my attention that although I had a wedding shower and a birthday party to attend Saturday the shower didn’t start until 6 and the birthday party started at 8:30. I had thought that they were earlier in the day. Well with a time slot open I frantically started calling everyone in my phone. After calling about 20 people I had put a crew of 4 together by 8pm. Saturday morning we left remeleys at 4:30 and ran straight out to 250ft averaging 22knotts. Once we got there we saw 0 signs of life or weed so we kept going we ran across some scattered weeds in 350 that had 2 boats fishing. I marked it and kept going. Finally in 650 ft we found a 2 degree temp break 72/74 with weeds forming. So we got the rods out and began trolling southward. The barely weed line ran out quick and became scattered. We trolled back in a little bit and began circling back to where we had seen some flyers and splashed. An hour passes with no bites so i d

Pretty awesome report. Well done stayin’ at it, as it obviously paid off.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
