5/10 from zero to hero

left Remleys at 3:30 trying not to flip out someone is parked in my spot. Welcomed a much nicer ocean than I expected and got better as we got deeper. Then came the starboard motor shutting down at 140 feet. Only needed 7 miles to ledge so we decided to troll as we checked motor. after multiple hook ups and attempts to repair motor we decided that 1 was all we were getting and we would need to leave early for the 8 hour " troll" home at 11:00 AM. At 10:45, That when the bull hit. see picture. After 30 minutes of circling and attempting with 1 motor to run this beast down we boated him. It was a little after 11:00 so we put them back out and started home. After several more fish, I mean “delays” we boated 2 more. Then we got to 150 of water I figured it would be kings or skipjack all the way to jetties. Did I mention our top speed of 9 MPH. Then the hit came. This pig started smoking it out like we false hooked the bottom. See picture. forgot to mention the all mono spread. don’t like kings that much anyway. Hook was through side and barb was buried in the top side of his mouth. Another 20 minutes and we were officially zero to hero. Got back to Remleys at 7:30 cleaned boat and fish. Bed at 10:00 going again Sunday. Sorry Mother.

Thats a great story that you got back safely and with 2 awesome fish.

Any idea the weight of the bull? Also, newb question, but thats a wahoo right? The striped coloration must quickly fade?

I’ll bet bull goes #52. Nice fat wahoo, and a trip from hell that you BEAT!
