Took a neighbor out that’s never gone with me before. My 2 year old tagged along. Came across a ton of active reds that we spooked but they came back and we got 4 and missed about 6 or 7. Also got a little too shallow and was grounded for 2 hours but we were able to run around and chase the reds and get all the energy out of my 2 year old. Good time. Chunked mullet on the bottom on either side of low tide.
Still haven’t seen large schools of mullet yet. Heard a few reports of some decent schools here and there the past few weeks but surprised I haven’t seen the mullet yet.
I was thinking the same thing about the mullet. I thought they would be running at the beach by now.

Yeah, about this time last year is when I think I saw them in force. Then again, last year the weather was so whacky (rain rain rain) and seemed to mess with temps… but after saying that you’da thought we’d see them by now. Ah well, could be tomorrow. I just need to dedicate half of a trip to stocking up (I say that each year but all I do is catch just enough for the trip but then will buy a frozen “just in case” pack each trip).
