Left Edisto about 5:30 AM and found things a little worse than the weatherman predicted. Knew it would not be smooth. Headed to the Deli and had a rough slow ride. Pulled up short at the first 73 degree water we found. Really rough and tough to fish but picked at them for three hours. Caught 6 nice dolphin smallest about 12 pounds with several pushing 20 pounds - all gaffers. Things slowed down about noon and the wind got worse and shifted making the ride home lousy. We had planned to bottom fish a bit but called it off and started home at 1:30 PM and had a rough ride back to Edisto. First trip this year and at least caught some decent fish.
Just curious, what were you in? Glad you made it safely home.

25 foot Grady. Wasn’t dangerous, just uncomfortable, maybe 4-5 at 6 seconds at worst. I have fished in worse in a small boat. If we were all 21 it would have been fun - three times that makes it hard to get up the next day.

It was flat calm on the other side of a rip in 450ft. We were the only boat fishing it for miles in either direction. Very bumpy and ruf ride home. Crazy to see it so calm on one side and rough on the other. Keep your radio on next time. We would have gladly called you into the fish as we were the only boat on it. 75-78 temp break with weeds and trash. Caught our limit of dolphin 10-35 lbs. Sorry we shared that bumpy ride with you in a 28 mako
