LEft wappoo with @ 6am with the intention of heading to 110ft down south. Well after crackin the mouth of the jetties, that changed quickly with the 2 to 3 foot slop and the small boat I was in. Ended up runnin the trough to the garden and dropped at 7:30 in 85ft. Pulled around til 12:15 producing only 4 kings, 2 donkeys, a cuda, and a wahoo (15#'s). Had a nice bull about 25#'s on but pulled the hook. Wet ride home.
forgot to mention, wahoo was caught on baitrunner 4500 with a small naked bally on 80# flouro. pretty cool.
also had a 40+ pound 'hoo sky on the short rigger but cut the 150# flouro

Mic, yea It sucked not being able to get to “the hump”. I know the fish were there but i was not going to run 30 miles @ 15knots! I hate fishing the garden…but at least i got 'hoo steaks! We also had several dolphin all over the teaser. Pulled the teaser all the way into the boat and was slapping them on the head with a dink bait, and they wouldnt eat it. wth? lol

You should have tried squid.... we had a slow day at the gt hole sat and stopped at the garden on the way in. Saw some phins cruising by while bottom fishing for bsbs. Chummed them back with a handful of squid and started slinging them in the boat on dropper loops. No wahoo for us though! =)
I would have chunked up some peanuts, we saw them, but I did not have my tags on board (left them on the counter early AM by accident) and I really just dont care to sling 2 pounders because Im not going to keep the peanuts and it just was not worth the effort, especially with only two on board.
Duke, we fished anywhere from 80-100ft, but we found most everything on live bottom numbers around 85ft. No secret numbers, same garden numbers you can get off any maps unique chart
After talking to another fisherman in the shop here yesterday, there was a color change and a weedline only 4 miles offshore of us in 120ft. DANG, i was close! oh well Get em next time pho sho!
