We arrived in 60-70ā water around 8:00 and started trolling with-in 5 minutes caught the first gag but 1" short, second fish was beautiful King (24lb). Continued trolling area and picked up another short fish but he drove the X-rap 4% treble thru the palm of my right hand! with him flopping Jay finally unhooked him and i flattened the barb and pulled the hook back out (OUCH!), Next two were nice fat gags 28" and 29". Then the smoker King screamed off long rigger, great fight for Jay, got him near the boat and what in sight! He looked like a alligator! He took off around the port motor prop but luck was with us and he came free and we put the monster in the boat (43lbs 56" long} Stopped trolling about 9:30 and went out to 90ā bottom fishing, they were fired-up and we got 3 limits of BSB and vermillion and one cobia and a 20lb scamp, Headed home @12:30. Awesome Day for sure, grouper fillets on grill and fresh squash from garden with sausage&onions
