5/17 Fun Day offshore

My brother was in town for a few days and amazingly, the weather cooperated and laid down on Thursday so we went offshore and got some good fish. He got a Stud bull on a spinning rod which really made our day. We spent plenty of time swimming with the fish on the weed lines and just enjoying a great day offshore. Ended with 8 good fish and let smaller ones go. We could have probably had at least 20 if we were all business but we had fun and that’s all that matters.
If you have never put a mask on and dove on a weed mat, give it a try.

Good stuff, Jordan. Nice to see one of the O.G.'s posting trip pics.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

Good job releasing some fish. That will come back to you in the way of karma on a future trip.
Did you happen to get an video while you were swimming under the weeds?

No video under the weed mat but I’ll take some next trip out. I have a good camera with a dive housing that will be Nat Geo quality video.

That looks like a good time for sure!!

Thought that was NC’s Mug in those pics:sunglasses:…

I’ve been thinking of jumping in with all those spades nearshore and shooting a couple…Sharks worry me, lol…

Forgot to mention, canned a lot of tuna, Jordan. Thanks for the advice, as it is great!!

Ocean looked great, much nicer than yesterday
We saw lots of very small fliers under the weed mats (not swimming, just looking from the boat). Are they the same species as the bigger ones? Anyone know? They looked about 3" wingspan.
Good day Jordan!

There seem to be small brown flyers that are probably a different species. They look like grasshoppers.
