5-17 Wed

Slowly got to bubble Rock from Georgetown due to the seas. We missed lines in at first light, but managed to find some weeds around 10 after the wind laid out. Reading other reports I thought I’d share the colors that were working. We caught 5 dolphin on blue/white/silver daisy chain with blue/silver/white sea witch and ballyhoo (missed equal amount of knock downs on this one that had mangled hoo). We also had action (4) on green/hot pink smoker/bubbler. Depth 800’-850’ and water temp around 76. Total of 9 in the box and lost 3 at the boat, plus whatever was happening with those destroyed ballyhoo. Maybe worth mentioning all the missed knockdowns were while trolling through unavoidable/scattered patches of weeds.

Thanks for the report. If I go this weekend, I’ll be executing a plan farther north.

Good going on your day!!! Those baits coming up “MUSH” could have very well been from a billfish bite! I’ve had quite a few baits that I watched get eaten buy Whites and Sails come up pure mush after a missed hook up !
Just a thought!

Catch’em up!!!
