Great to see someone catching again. Top water, OTF, plastic…sounds very encouraging. How many did you get in total? Sounds like things might have (finally) turned around. Thanks for the report.
Nice!
That looks like a fun day!

ORM - Total 12 trout 2 reds 1 mummichog
Hoof - I bought a HooDat spoon and tried it down a bank with no results. Felt unconfident so started throwing a sapphire shine and caught a red w/in 4 casts (!) Need more confidence in the spoons. Any advice?

Fish it slow. I try to reel it in as slow as it will go and still wobble and spin the blade. I also try to keep it near the bottom.
I ordered some more of them Monday. They’re supposed to be here tomorrow.
I don’t exclusively fish spoons, but it worked the other day.

Nice report Dave. Hoof I have several of those spoons and have not given them a fair shot. Thought I could use them in the flats, but they were too heavy and noisy. Glad to hear you are catching on them. Have you caught any flounder with them?

No, but that’s one reason why I try to keep it down near the bottom. They look like a great flounder catcher.

Excellent work! Been itching to get back out there
Op, stop catching the same big ass gator trout! i’m sure it’s worn out by now!
love seeing reports, bud. thanks for doing it.
Way to go Dave. I don’t believe I have ever seen a mummichog caught on a hook.
Man, you’re in the zone, Op! You must be livin’ right…
