5-19 Deep diving the Ledge again.

The Ocean was pretty rough. Got to the boat at 5am and it was too crappy to leave the dock. Finally left at 9 or so to try and salvage a day
Only got in 3 quick dives to 170+ feet and got a few nice grouper. Les and Chris both put a nice scamp and Gag in the boat on their dives. Lots of nice scamp grouper are out on the ledge right now.

I finally got my grouper on the last dive of the day in 170. Got my Butt KICKED by two 40+ grouper. Last one even knocked my regulator out of my mouth and mask sideways around my head.

Good job Rob, but you are talking about 5/19 right? Was the ribbon fish inside one of the groupers?

do you dive on mixed gases that deep, or just twin tanks?

I think those are the fish from last trip…

No Split, the last ones were 15 and 19lbs. respectively. These are clearly about 5lbs. more. J/K CD. Nice fishes!

…but it’s a flat bottom!

Yes, skinnee, the tail of that ribbon was sticking out of the throat of one of those 40 lb gags. (hint: new secret deep dropping bait) :smiley:
