Dropped lines at 150 ft around Ledge area and headed towards 226.
1st fish was a good-sized blackfin (a first for me). Blackfin hit the way back naked hoo.
Right away caught a gaffer, still around ledge. He hit pink/white skirt Then things got quiet and we picked at them all day hanging out between ledge and 226. Temp gauge broke so cant say.
Boated 7 mahi 10-20lb and 1 blackfin 15lb. 2 missed knockdowns. All but one strike was on a naked ballyhoo.Majority on the wayback line.Saw only a handful of fliers, scattered weeds. I was disappointed for low catch at first until I monitored vhf and we did better than many.
Beautiful seas all day. Great crew. Awesome time.
Coolest thing was watching a marlin sky thru a baitfish school a couple of times.
