Sorry for late report just haven’t had time to post. Got a late start last Sunday didn’t get the boat wet until about 6 then fiddled around with trying to catch menhaden off the beach. That was an unsuccessful 45 mins so we pointed the bow NE and headed towards 380 hole. First 10 miles was a slow wet ride but then started to lay down and we made 35kts most of the way. Stopped at a huge weed line in 85 ft and checked it out. Found a nice cobia tooling around it but did not want to hit anything and then he was gone. Kept pushing out to find green water as far as the eye could see didn’t see blue water until we hit 300 ft or so. Put lines in 750’ north of 380 and as soon as I got the last line out in the spread it goes off then another. Double knock down one. Nicegaffer comes on the boat the other lost due to being missed on the gaff. Get 3 lines back out and that’s all we could before another double knock down this time two nice gaffers hit the ice. At that moment we spot a pallet about 50 yards away. Put the spread back out and within minutes 2 more nice gaffers are on the boat. We decide to set up and pitch baits at them on spinning gear and finished the day like that. Put 40 in the box mixture of gaffers and slingers biggest at 25lbs. Awesome day on the water and made 40kts all the way home
