5/23 w bro and dad pics

went out to the jetties cause my brother lives in Atlanta and wanted to go out a bit. caught a few bsb and called haddrells to ask what the limit was now, and they said the season was closed. really, if there is any fish that you should be able to keep its a black sea bass.also, he got a shark and we headed back in for some red fish action. I have been trying to catch a rf on a spook and finally it paid off. Which, may i add, is far more exciting than a largemouth. I immediately got a blow up and no hook up but my bro caught the fish on a mm cause i was like, “cast over there.” it is the larger one. then five min later a got a 5 lb one that was tagged. he blew up on my spook and i hooked this one and got him in. this time i got the number and called it in immediately when we got home to get my t shirt. i used to fish alot w top water for bass and i have relapsed on my top water addiction. pops missed all his bites and he says he has gotten so old he just cant fish worth a blank any more. he is a great fisherman just had bad luck today. also got some smaller ones on mm’s. pics below

dude, you really need to be careful…in case you didn’t notice in the background of a few of your first pictures there is a wormhole or black hole or some sort of space-time continuum going on in the background there…that could really ruin a day on the water…otherwise nice fish!

also, you might not want to handle a redfish around the gills like that, especially if he is above the slot and to be released…

Good fish, nice day on the water. Top water action will get the heart rate up reel fast!

I thought they were waves of green tide behind him. As for the topwater hookup, that is one of my goals. I can only imagine how cool it must be to see that bad boy come shooting to the surface busting on your lure. Sounds like a good day.

Remind me to never go fishing there, looks like the end of the world or something. Good topwater red!

They have entered the twightlite zone and getting close to the outer limits.

Not a bad day at all. Congrats

Great job! Cool getting the tagged ones! My brother (in-law) lives in Atlanta and drools over this site, waiting for his next chance to come to town! What time of day did you get the one on topwater? Looked like and sounds like from the story mid day??

BTW, great pic of you and bro on the bow. Great days!

bonzo that is my brother holding it under the gills. i did not think it hurt them to hold em that way but i will let him know. i dont hold them like that cause the pics arent as good.

vin- it was mid day. always heard morning and evenings were better for top water but i learned bass fishing that that is not always the case. i figure if bait is hitting the top throwing top water is a good idea.

cool…it is unhealthy for a redfish mouth and gills to look like this…but like you said, if you don’t know then you don’t know…thanks to being open to suggestions…
