The one in the kid’s left hand looks like a good one.
The camera man should be slapped. Good fish don’t jump in the 'gloo everyday.

Every year…
You know last year “Lowcountry Sportfishing”(another charter captain) said they caught a BIG Blue 500-600 lbs. I asked for him to post the pictures of the fish…never got any photos. Now this year ya’ll catch one 500-600 lbs, yet again no photos(except the crappy shot of the fish underwater, looks in the 300’s to me). So whats the deal. Ya’ll make your money putting people on big fish and you don’t get any good pics of a 500-600 lbs Marlin off Charleston’s coast? And here’s some information for ya about fishing off Charleston, thats a monster fish in these waters. A good picture to prove it sure would look good for the website and brochure.
Just a thought…
You are right, that is a monster fish. What people don’t take into account is that the captain is busy driving the boat and putting the mate in the right position to leader, tag, and release a fish. Neither the mate nor I have time to take the pictures. The picture of the fish in the water was taken by someone fishing on our charter. It was the only picture, which doensn’t do the fish justice. I have caught marlin all over the world, and have seen plenty the size of the one in the picture. The fishing in Charleston is getting better and better every year. I’ve heard about it thousands of miles away. Don’t be sorry when a big blue mistakes your boat as a skipping mackerel. I wipe my hands of this post, see y’all on the Captains log.

Good going on the big blue, for me if you say it was 500-600 then bygosh it was. i think the people around here do not know your resume and the time you have spent mate/captain all over the world.I have always known you to be standup person/fisherman.You will always have my respect and freindship.I know your billfish catches are up in the hundreds so that makes me think your pretty good at guessing which is what we all do without a scale. Also see you on the captain log.Now lets go to the 450-500 line and crushem up

I was going to say something to all of the dummy’s round here, but I just don’t have the time. Dummy’s round here are like white on rice. Nevermind.
Very nice fish.
Sure wish I’ve caught so many Marlin I could sit around and debate weight…nice catch Captain. I’m happy fighting one, even if he spits it…but who am i. Again nice catch
