After what has been a hit or miss May, we rolled out to a sporty sea around 445 am. Started fishing in 300 ft on the 350 line. Had a mystery fish pop the left long rigger and that was it until 1230. By this time we had pushed further offshore. Right when I was about to lose faith in the trip, I see blue marlin pile on the left short. He jumps off almost immediately. As soon as this happens, the center rigger and the right long go off and we have two nice dolphin hooked up. While we are clearing lines to fight these dolphin, the left long starts peeling off drag and we see a white marlin hooked up! Luckily we got the dolphin in the box and released the white. The rest of the day we picked up a few more dolphin and had another white take a swipe at the right flat line. Great day on the water and great to see the whites here in full force.
