5/3/09 Hartwell

Still had bb’s swimming around the bait tank so about 3pm the Admiral and I decided to go use them up. I took her cut bait fishing, she was not too hung up on the idea but said what ever works. It was pretty windy so we headed up Seneca River to get out of the wind.

Tried 2 different spots and ended up c&r 4 catfish and no stripers.

We(SHE) saw the storm brewing and headed our way about 6pm so we loaded up and hauled butt back to Portman and by the time we had everything loaded up you could tell the storm had passed us by.

Still not too keen on this thing of running boat up on bank, I was thinking keelguard and still may install one but I am thinkiing I will start using 2 anchors as many have suggested. Lot of rocks in Hartwell and unless you run a deep v way up on the bank it still rocks some plus do not like the idea of all that mud and sand around lower unit.

May hit the water again this Friday depending on weather but need to finish putting out mulch on flower beds so that may keep me off water this week.

I still have a hard time cutting up lively BB’s for cut bait, but whatever works. Thanks again for a good day on the water.

I’d rather fish than eat.

Got to admit it worked, you should see the bottom of my boat though. I have either got to start using 2 anchors or invest in a keelguard.:frowning_face:
