Got the text to go with some friends in a bigger boat Saturday night. Left a little late around 7:30am but had lines in just after 9am just short of SW banks. Had 1st fish on before the 3rd line was in the water. 20lb gaffer and thought it was going to be action packed day but then no bites for 3hrs. Pushed deeper to 800-1000ft and found steady action the rest of the day. Had a billfish in the spread for a minute and saw a 6ft hammerhead on the surface for a minute. Ended with 9 dolphin and lost a couple at the boat. Went north for black fin but no luck. Best part was watching my 7 year old having an awesome day on the water after watching wicked tuna the last couple of months. Great day on the water with great people. Hoping for a long calm season
