Though not a banner day, it was a good day fishing above the Gap with my good friends Spoonmaster and Dtp3. In the morning, we pulled boards, freelines, and downrods for 3 solid keepers and a host of shorts. Afternoon was cutbait time, and, though the bite was slow, all of the fish we caught on cut were solid keepers. We ended with 7 or 8 keepers with around 30 fish landed. Can’t complain too much about that. The fish kept by Spoon were 5-7 pounders.
Lake Murray above Billy Dreher Island. That’s about 20-25 miles from Columbia as the crow flies. Fishing is pretty good all over the lake for stripers right now.
