We’re back safe and sound. Caught a box full of green and yellow fish. Stopped in 115’ to add some red to that. Jerms caught a nice keeper ARS. Full report and pictures later.
Also got flashed while taking the boat out…that was a first for me…LOL! I think Penny may have gotten a picture for you guys.
FYI: There are several decent weed lines north on a path to SWB. Caught most of our fish in less than 180’.
Ocean was georgous. Go catchem up.

I'll be the guy drinking Pabst on a 85 montauk with a clemson flag hangin from the stern light, going about 6 knots,. . .hopefully we'll have some ladies with us, but I think that might be wishfull thinking at this point.

Hey Guys, I’m a young fisherman, go to cofc, and have been fishing offshore for years. I am looking for a boat to fish on this week, I will pay my share of gas and will rig baits and wash boat. I just got the fishing fever and really really wanna get back out there again! (went last week caugth 10 dolphin and raised a marlin and just want seconds). If I could ride/help/fish some on any of yalls boats id appreciate the heck out of it.
My numer is 803-261-3276. Ive got all the tackle too.
Thanks, Gabe
We had a great time showing a couple of newcomers (Jerms’ nephew and best friend) what offshore fishing is all about. This was both of their first trips offshore and we wanted to make it a memorable one. While the fishing wasn’t that stellar, I think we made a lasting impression. They can’t wait to go again.
The trolling was a little slow for us, but believe it or not even with two green guys on the boat, we only lost a few fish, one to angler error and inexperience, but that was the only one.
I think we ended up with ten dolphin on the troll and a few short strikes, Jerms shook a couple of small fries off at the boat and let them live another day. The fish were hungry though, had several completely swallow the lure and all and had to cut and rerig more times than usual. Also caught a few on the spinning gear and got absolutly worked by a little 12lber that thought he was 30. Lots of fun!!
Saw several weedlines out there and stopped and check several for dolphin swimming underneath so that Jerms could possibly get one on the flyrod. Our best opportunity came when we were trolling a small weedline in 115’ and I spotted one immediately beside the boat and threw the boat into neutral yelling at Jerms to get the fly in the water. Well, as soon as we stopped and the baits behind us fell in the water colum, that little fish lit up and took after them and Jerms didn’t really get the opportunity to present his fly. Maybe next trip man.
Also missed a nice bull later in the day which proceeded to straighten out an 8/0 SS hook. In hindsight, probably put a little too much pressure on the guy. Woulda been the daymaker dolphin. Oh well.
At about 1, we decided to show the boys a little bit different style of fishing and put them on some bottomfish. After a couple of reefs donkeys, the boys wanted nothing more to do with them. We did manage a few keeper bottom species, but no grouper. Jerms had the catch of the day with a nice keeper ARS. Plan on having some for dinner tonight and can’t wait!!
Try some mustad 7691s. Should help the above mentioned problem.
Behind this helm stands a sickness that not even a women can cure.

Never had this problem before. Caught two 40lbers on the same hooks last year…I’m pretty sure we put too much pressure on this fish…just what I’m telling myself.
