Headed out yesterday to EB fishing with MISSING4WEEKS and 3 other friends. Passing through the rocks around 4:30 we see boats coming back in. We were thinking it was going to be real bad but we really wanted to fish and use the new boat.

M4W and I have been fishing together in a 23 Contender the past 2 years and would, and have been, in weather just like yesterday. Last week he sold the 23 Contender and up graded to a 31 Jupiter. Yesterday was our first trip out so we had no plans of turning around unless it was unsafe conditions.

The boat did great in the rough water. I was very impressed with its performance and how it fished. We started fishing in 130’ and picked up a couple. We then trolled toward 250’ and did not really do much till we hit 250’ and we started picking at them again. Listening to the radio it did not sound like anyone was tearing the fish up. We had a lot of short strikes, pulled the hook on a couple and a couple of lines cut off. We used 30 ballyhoo and only put 8 in the box.

All in all it was a lot of fun. We put 8 dolphin in the box, had a great crew, the boat did great in not so great conditions and made it home safely. I’m not beat up at all today or feeling like I have been in a car wreck. I can’t wait to fish with these guys again.

sounds like a successful trip to me.gongrats.did you catch all fish on top?was there a secret color lure they prefered? blue and white perhaps?

All were caught on top and there really was not a prefered color of the day. Hated all the short strikes but don’t really know what to do about that.

M4W, was wondering if your boat is a teal colored CC. If so you passed me about 25 miles out. I could only make about 16 knots.

Yeah, I think they call it sea foam green. M4W was driving and I was on the floor trying to sleep on the bags so I did not see anything unntil we stopped to fish.

Jupiter makes a fantastic boat, but you already knew that. We got the 27 Scarab Tournament last year and love that boat. My friend is selling his 37 Pheonix and backing up to a smaller CC, we had forgotten how much fun they can be. Thx for the update.

Compact, I have been fishing with Chase since they had the Viking. That jupiter sure is a fishing machine. How about that cockpit. Man, the times we had on that boat. Well glad to see it still around, and good luck to ya.
