5/7 rebel rider edisto banks and beyond

well got a late start in the morning and opened the door to be greeted by the fog. took way longer than we thought to clear the cans outta edisto. fog cleared jus before the last can. after the beating we took we arrived at 250’ just past the banks at 8:20 and deployed. nada thing till 400’ and small gaffer in the boat. kept easing out and depth recorder quit working at 543’. told the crew the depth recorder would pick up in a bit and never did. finally found a broken weedline with everyone working it and decided to make a round on it with nada so we decided to head back to the ledge in hopes of finding a hoo. picked up a skipjack in 220’ and that was a wrap for the fish in the boat. had one short strike other than that. decided to get to the tourny weigh in early so we headed back in at 2 for a nice ride in. got to the last can and ran outta fuel . there was a boat that just happened to be cruising around that was generous enough to give us a quick tow in. made it there and weighed our 2 only fish. the mahi went 11.46 and tuna went 12.7. it was the largest tuna but didnt win since we didnt enter that calcutta . was talking to one of the local edisto boats that we passed fishing and he told us we were at 1200’ with them for a bit. it made for a good laugh. all in all we had fun and were thankful for what we did catch. heard some chatter about more successful boats as well as familiar names on here.
