Short and sweet. Left about 3:30 and watched sunrise while trolling through 400’ north of 380. Caught a couple of gaffers in the cabbage. Ran out to 800’ for a more formed line. Started pecking at them singles and doubles. A lot of short strikes but even though we had a new crew member we got most of them anyway. It became a parking lot by 9 AM but luckily we were about done by then. Best fish of day was after some jackass in a Contender I believe cut us out of a corner edge we had circled and hooked up 3 times in a row. Thought the captain was gonna come unglued. Said we sure wish we could catch a fish right behind him and make him watch as we reeled in. We did hook up but he was gone long before we got this guy in. See picture. Wind picked up and overwash tore line apart. Trolled in for a couple of hours. Saw some nice patches, birds, lot of Bonita but that was it. Put on 33 knots and rolled. Nice ocean, nice boat and great time with friends and family.
Nice bull. How many did y’all end up catching?
