Headed out at 4:45am to smooth seas and a nice ride at 32 knots between 380-226 hole. Scattered weeds from 150 foot to 1,400 foot before you could get on the clean side of weeds. Decent mats out deep but a parking lot… Caught 2 dolphin in 1,300 foot seen a blue crash the surface too. Not much radio chatter about catching any big numbers that I heard. Made the call to run north from there. Sat back down in 450ft. found a pallet and made the swing. Triple knock down all gaffers one probably pushing 40+ pounds. Caught 8 gaffers off the pallet! Lost 7 more and a few were very nice ones as well! Bite didn’t pick up till 3:30. Pulled up at 5 and headed in at 28 knots with a good ride. Great trip with friends once again and another good b-day trip for me! Ended the day with 10 dolphin. Had a bird join the crew for a free ride back in.
