Anyone using a 5/8" mesh net? I was thinking about getting one so it would let most of the small ones out. Just curious if anyone knows how effective this is.
That’s all I use. Helps cull the little ones.
Growing old is MANDATORY, Growing up is OPTIONAL!

Bait Buster Menhaden 5/8" 7ft White 1.5lb per foot.
All my shrimp nets are 5/8…8’ and 10’ including the taped deep hole nets.
Sinks faster, less bulk to pull in and load to throw, and lets smaller fish and shrimp out.
Yep! Contact Tim Wade down in Florida. I bought one of his nets two seasons ago and its the best money i have ever spent!
You have to google him and get his phone number. Call him and he will make you one in about 2 weeks time.
Hotsauce, I don’t have 2 weeks to waste. Shrimp here now
I agree with Biker. Only difference is that I throw a 7 ft Super Pro and 8 ft Black Pearl
5/8 for me too less anchovies and small baitfish pop out quicker.
It sinks faster too. I ordered my tim wade before the season started.
I use a 5/8 mesh net and like it much better than a 1/2 mesh. It will still catch smaller ones than you want.
Thanks for all the advice. I must have one now.
Plus it’s less bulky!
does tim wade sew mesh or put tape on his nets ?
Yes
Do you know how much it adds to the price of the net?
