5 Aug CHS Harb USCG Ops.

Tossed the net a bit for some peanut menhaden off Morris just before high tide.

USCG whirly-bird crew appeared to be maybe tossing a New London graduate from their side port a few dozen feet off the water. 9.5 belly flops each drop.
The dude or dudette behind the wheel was keeping station rock solid.
Frogman got lowered down to retrieve said belly-flopper each time.

Really good to observe their budget allows actual training and not just keyboard operated simulators.

Nice GW too.

That must have been pretty cool to watch. I think sometimes folks get irritated by what they see as an intrusion by the CG while on the water so we sometimes forget what a valuable service these brave men and women provide…and they don’t get rich doing it.
