The wife and I hit “our” spot right as the tide was turning (low to high) and it was “fish on” with almost every cast. 99% of them were dinks, but it was still a blast. Love seeing the float disappear before you can even set the bail! We went through nearly 12 dozen fresh shrimp caught the night before off our dock. Final score was- Wife: 32 redfish (one very nice keeper), 2 trout (one nice keeper @ 22"), one stingray, and three crabs. Me: 21 redfish and one trout. (I was down 7 to 1 at one point so I made a pretty good comeback, LOL).
It should be a great fall based on this trip and other recent outings as bait is EVERYWHERE and these dinks will grow up fast.
Endured nearly 100 boat passings as the boating community headed to Beaufort for the Festival. Thankfully they came mostly in droves and then there was calm for a while till the next group or two went by. Pretty much calm after noon. Weather was great with just enough breeze and partly cloudy skies. Nice ride out and back in. We got out of the water before a passing storm showed up. Didn’t want to be at Dahwoo Landing when the Beaufort crowd starting coming in. Landing was PACKED and the road in was taken up as well.
congrats on a nice day catching! was this on Saturday or Sunday? And what festival in Beaufort are you referring to? We were out Saturday around the N. Edisto and saw a lot of boats running south. Wondering why?

Sea tonic, you really don’t know about the Beaufort water festival? With all you talk about our coastal affairs? Only one of the biggest water events of the summer. That is for youngsters and such. It’s gotten to crowed for me over the last few years.
It was on Saturday and The Beaufort Water Festival was going on this weekend. Plenty of boats from all over but it is way too crowded and too HOT! DNR has a field day when the party breaks up at the end of each day. Definitely an event where a designated driver is a must.
