Straight up crushing them on the outgoing tide. Cut menhaden still the ticket
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.

Man! I’m dying to get out there! Trailer is out of the shop today. I’ll be out there Monday and Tuesday, weather providing. Workin all weekend Beautiful fish!
Still on cut menhaden? None on croaker, bluefish or whiting?
Capt., you ever tag these big reds? I know that requires them being out of the water for a longer period of time(not stirring the pot). I have tagged several at the jetties and it’s cool to get the notifications from DNR about recapture.

Where do you usually get your menhaden? I’m still not great with the cast net
Ya better learn how to cast. You can’t buy pogies, and even right after you catch em they are going to last long.

FF I tag big redfish and yes they do survive when handled right and you get em back in the water quickly. It really doesn’t take long to get a quick measurement and place the tag. Thanks for the post Fritz, nice fish.

Caught a bull red yesterday with 3 hooks in its mouth, got all of them out and he kicked off nicely. Some would say he died after being released though which is hard to imagine after seeing how it survived with all the tackle in it’s mouth.
