6/1/15 White Marlin (video)

Headed out to a flat sea and dropped lines in at 150ft. Worked our way out to 550ft with only 2 dolphin and a barracuda to show for it. Started heading back in and got a nice hoo in 230ft. Kept working in about 220ft and saw a billfish in the spread. Dropped baits back and hooked up. At the same time we see another billfish in the spread and drop a bait back to it. BAM Double hook up on 2 white marlin. The 2nd one that was hooked jumped about 5 times and came unglued. The 1st one that was hooked was a successful release boatside. We ran back in to fish some live bottom but all we could seem to find were sharks, a remora and a lot of BSBs. Got some great footage on the go pro. Toward the end of the video is some awesome underwater footage of the marlin. If you look closely you can see the 2nd marlin jump at 1min 43sec in. Will also be adding some slowmo footage in the near future as well.

Good footage. Looks like you guys had a great time together. That scout you’re fishing is a really nice looking boat.

That slow mo vid is incredible. Congrats! Ocean looked amazing as well.

Was that fish foul hooked on the pec fin? Hard to tell for sure so curious if my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Nah the fish wasn’t foul hooked. It does kind of look like it in the video though.

and yes the ocean was flat!
