After waiting a couple weeks for a good weather day, I had the good fortune to hitch a ride with Paul and Ross to the Charleston 60. Met up at Mount P around 7ish, grabbed some ice and bait at Haddrells then down to Remleys point to drop Pauls boat in. Ride out of the jetties wasn’t bad at all. As we neared the reef, we spotted a couple pods of bottlenose swimming between the boats. Paul quickly settled the boat in to try some drifts, it was a little slow at first with a sheep here and there(had to move a couple times when a big cruiser wasn’t too concerned about how close he drifted… thankfully he didn’t stick around too long). As the sun got higher the wind really dropped, and then it was on like Donkey Kong. Big schools of spades were around us all day long with quite a few cudas mixed in. Enjoyed watching a couple of the nearest boats doubling and tripling on spades. A father and son in a 22’ Pathfinder tore’em up, they doubled on AJ’s then the father had a ‘cuda hook up and put on a show launching out of the water multiple times trying to shake the hook. We ended up with a couple nice over slot reds, BSB’a some sheepshead for the table and a nice four foot sharpnose. Packed it in about 2:30, took forever to get Pauls boat out as some complete moron with a 29’ center console had one ramp blocked up for over 30 mins launching and loading his passengers while about 8 boats were waiting to recover, what an asshat… Tight Lines!
Sounded like a nice trip, thanks for posting mudslinger.

Ah yes! The repeating theme of cluelessness at the boat. Never ending ignorance.
At least your day was a great one while on the water.
No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.
I want to join in on the spadefish fun, but walked the beach and inlets and couldn’t find one jellyball. What did you get your spades on? Thanks.
We were set up to bottom fish, but I think the boats we saw tearing them up were using shrimp and cut squid.
Appreciate the info, Mudslinger.
