I really don’t have much respect for most TV fishermen & hunters. What makes them better than anyone else that fishes alot , has done so for years, learning everything he can along the way. Anyone can hire a outfitter in Alaska & kill a bear - or book a captain in Morehead & catch a bft. Throw in a little abrasiveness & arrogance & I’ll change the channel.
The only one I’ve NEVER seen with a guide is Bill Dance. He seems to have a healthy dose of humility & some actual talent& skill.
Shaw Grigsby has a girly man voice & laugh that is irritating. Most of em’ are constant commercials
Tred wouldn’t last with me on a boat. The first time he yelled at an angler or mate during a fight the way he does on his show I’d bind & gag him for the rest of the trip.

You don’t see much boat traffic around him either. I heard most of his shows are fished on ponds.
I can not prove or disprove that only what I heard.

I watched him try to stick his first hog and he ran like a girl. What a wus!If he had been huntin with me and Slayride,he’d have been the cabin-b%&ch the rest of the week.
Having said that, he did inspire me to fish alone offshore once a year.I’ll keep doing it as long as I’m able.
